{"id":6396,"date":"2026-03-17T10:49:40","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T09:49:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.septembremusical.ch\/?p=6396"},"modified":"2026-03-19T16:23:02","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T15:23:02","slug":"septembre-musical-celebrates-its-80th-anniversary-and-marks-its-grand-return-to-the-stravinski-auditorium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.septembremusical.ch\/en\/septembre-musical-celebrates-its-80th-anniversary-and-marks-its-grand-return-to-the-stravinski-auditorium\/","title":{"rendered":"Septembre Musical celebrates its 80th anniversary and marks its grand return to the Stravinski Auditorium"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"the-content\"><p><strong>From 9 to 18 September 2026, Septembre Musical Montreux-Vevey will celebrate its 80th anniversary with an ambitious programme marked by the festival\u2019s grand return to the Stravinski Auditorium after two years of renovation work on the Montreux Music &amp; Convention Centre.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After two <em>sold-out<\/em> editions in 2024 and 2025, the 80thedition retains the concept that made it so successful: the combination of great music and exploratory formats, brought together under the name Classic &amp; Lab.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cFor this 80th edition, we wanted a programme that fully reflects the festival\u2019s DNA: artistic excellence, a strong commitment to young people and a true spirit of innovation,\u201d <\/em>emphasises Mischa Damev, the festival\u2019s director.<\/p>\n<p>From cellist <strong>Gautier Capu\u00e7on <\/strong>to pianists <strong>Kirill Gerstein <\/strong>and <strong>Brad Mehldau<\/strong>, alongside <strong>Marina Viotti<\/strong>, <strong>Peter Bence<\/strong>, <strong>Ara Malikian, Avi Avital, Ksenija Sidorova, Alexandra Conunova, Les Si\u00e8cles <\/strong>and <strong>the Orchestre National de France <\/strong>with <strong>Daniil Trifonov<\/strong>, this edition offers a rich and wide-ranging musical journey. True to its spirit of openness, Septembre Musical brings together a broad repertoire, Montreux\u2019s musical heritage, original creations and crossover formats to appeal to all generations. Highlights include two in-house productions: <strong>Chaplin\u2019s World Gala<\/strong>, a world premiere bringing together major stars around the legacy of Charlie Chaplin, and <strong>Azerbaijan Culture<\/strong> \u2013 true to the festival\u2019s tradition of cultural openness to the world, this programme opens a window onto 5,000 years of history and culture.<\/p>\n<p>The beating heart of this edition, the Stravinski Auditorium will once again serve as the main venue for the grand symphonic evenings. The festival will also take place across four other iconic venues on the Riviera: the Ch\u00e2teau de Chillon, the Caux Palace, Fairmont Le Montreux Palace and the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Le Reflet, offering the audiences a range of experiences from intimate concerts to spectacular large-scale performances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>These 80 years bear witness to a living tradition: bringing women and men together through shared emotions.
