Brad Mehldau

One of the most lyrical and intimate voices of contemporary jazz piano, Brad Mehldau has forged a singular path that embodies the spirit of jazz exploration, classical romanticism and the appeal of pop. From the critical recognition he achieved as a bandleader to the major international exposure gained through collaborations with Pat Metheny, Renée Fleming and Joshua Redman, Mehldau continues to receive numerous awards and the admiration of both jazz purists and music lovers alike.

His explorations blending different musical languages, in both trio and solo settings, have produced brilliant reinterpretations of songs by contemporary songwriters such as The Beatles, Cole Porter, Radiohead, Paul Simon, George Gershwin and Nick Drake, alongside an ever-expanding catalogue of original compositions. With his declared affection for popular music and his classical training, “Mehldau is the most influential jazz pianist of the past twenty years” (The New York Times).
